Instructor Intensives

Summer: Experiential Instructor Intensive

  • Recommended For: Educators affiliated with college/conservatory-level acting programs. 

  • 3-Day bootcamp designed to push your on-camera acting & directing technique forward. 

  • You'll act every day - appling the innovative teaching techniques developed by our founder, Kelly Kimball. Each day you'll perform TV & Film scenes & take direction as an actor - then you'll learn to teach the same techniques. 

  • You'll hear from current industry professionals (casting associates, agents, managers) to learn the current state of the industry & understand what your actors need to start their on-camera acting careers.

  • Designed to be a safe place to act, learn, play, & practice teaching.

  • Available in-person or on zoom.

FAQ's for Summer Fall 2025

❓Do I have to be a professional actor to take class at Kimball?

We welcome actors of all levels. The majority of our clients are professional actors.  

❓Are Zoom classes only for advanced actors?

Most of our more advanced actors gravitate toward Zoom for the flexibility and alignment with the current self-tape audition and zoom callback industry standards. And actors who are newer to the studio usually prefer in person. It's whatever gets you to class. We also host free monthly workshops with agents, managers and casting directors which are on Zoom. So, you get some experience in the format to be ready to do them. 

❓I’m out of town part of the summer — can I still join?

Yes! Our 20-class session is modular and built for flexibility. You can do makeups in person or on Zoom, and your core class teacher and actors will be your .

❓I can make up missed classes?

Absolutely. Just give us 4 hours notice and you can make up your class in any available session (with any teacher) during the Summer/Fall 2025 semester. You can schedule makeups in our Slack or through the Kimball Studio iPhone or Android App. And you can jump in a class last minute if you have an audition to run. 

❓Which teacher should I study with?

All of our teachers are fantastic — warm, direct, eagle eyed and invested in growing your skillset and "In flow" mindset.


❓How do I access class materials and homework?

We use Slack as a creative hub - to post all class prep, scripts, assignments, and announcements. You’ll get an invite around July 1st. It’s free and easy — just accept the invite and you’re in. You are always welcome to bring your outside audition material to class

❓Where is the studio?

78 5th Ave NY NY Tenth Floor. And it's a gorgeous space!  We’re in Manhattan  — super easy to reach:Union Square: N, R, W, 4, 5, 614th St / 6th Ave: F, M, L West 4th: A, C, E, B, D, F
